About us

Granary Pygmy Goats is a knowledgable holding which was started in November 2006 when I bought four six month old pygmy goats, two Wethers and two Nannies, Which we named Heather, Fern, Bracken and Thistle. They were bought as pets for myself and two young children to grow up with.

Then I got the Pygmy Goat Bug and needed more and more. Pygmy goats are wonderful animals to have around your home as they each have individual characters. They have a mind and will of their own and are so entertaining and therapeutic to watch at play.

My knowledge was minimal however quickly grew as I became absorbed in gaining an understanding of them.

I decided I would like to breed pygmy goats and so increased my stock to hold four Nannies. Unfortunately through a sudden illness we lost our gorgeous black pygmy goat Heather, typically this was the children’s favourite! as she was so friendly and would walk on a lead for them.

Following this tragedy we bought our first entire Billy named ‘Bramble’, we later purchased another entire Billy named ‘Dandelion’ however soon learnt that having two Billy’s was too much for the herd. We were left with the difficult decision to let one of the Billy’s go which was Dandelion.

My husband is my website manager who I would like to thank for his time and effort helping me o tlaunch my pygmy goat interest.

Also thanks to all that have commented on our website the comments where very much appreciated, thanks again.
